Don’t Just Show Your Property, Show It Off!

  • Open the draperies and shades, and turn on the lights to make it look bright , open and cheerful,
  • Tidy up each room.  Pick up toys, shoes, and other items that may be scattered about.  Keep dishes out of sight.  Be sure the bedsa re made, the lcosthes are put away in closets and drawers.  The kitchen and bathrooms should sparkle.  And don’t forget to give the whole place a quick once-over with the vacuum.  As you pull out of the driveway, make sure you give the entry a quick glance to make sure it looks inviting!
  • Keep pets out of the way, and make sure that all areas are clean and odor-free.
  • Turn off your television.  Soft music on the radio can be appealing, but keep it low and appropriate.
  • Secure jewlery, cash and other valuables.  You may want to consider placing those items in a safety deposit box while your property is on the market.
  • Trust the sales associate to show your property to its best advantage.  Potential buyers may talk more freely and feel more at home in you’re not there.  If you’re still home when they arrive, have coffee with a neighbor, walk the dog or run an errand until they leave.
  • Save the business cards of the brokers who show your property or put out the materials (including the marketing packages) I’ve left for you so they can sign in and I can follow up for feedback after showings.
  • If people who are not represented by a broker wnat to see your property, please refer them to me.  I will pre-qualify prospective buyers and screen all inquiries for your convenience and peace of mind.
  • Please notify me if you’re leaving town and leave a number where you can be reached in case an offer to purchase is presented.
